What to do in England, events, ideas for the weekend, places to go

Chatsworth has to be one of the finest stately homes in the UK. Superb gardens, woodland and working kitchen gardens plus of course a wonderful house and miles of estate to explore.

We went in Spring before most of the gardens were in full bloom but it was still an impressive sight. Particularly enjoyed the hedged traditional maze which was actually more difficult than would first appear.


Chatsworth have a packed events calander which includes horse trials and outdoor classical concerts.
